The Archduchy of Mimas

It is with profound sorrow that we have learned of the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.

Throughout more than three decades upon the Norwegian throne, His Majesty devoted his life to the service of his country and people. His steadfast sense of duty, warmth, dignity and deep affection for Norway earned him the respect and affection not only of his own people, but of so many beyond Norway’s shores.

King Harald was a devoted sovereign and a constant presence through moments of both celebration and sorrow. His commitment to unity, compassion and service leaves an enduring legacy for the Kingdom of Norway and for generations to come.

At this time of national mourning, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty Queen Sonja, His Majesty King Haakon VIII, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway.

We join them in mourning a remarkable sovereign and human whose long life was given faithfully to the service of his nation.

May His Majesty rest in peace, and may his memory long be honoured.
